HOW IT WORKS

The “Jockey Club CLAP-TECH Pathway: Star” adopts a tripartite collaboration between three parties: industry partners, education and training institutions, and secondary schools in Hong Kong.

Shared Responsibilities

  • Formed to build a pilot for system change to support SEN youth’s school-to-work transition.
  • Bridge the SEN youth with the latest workplace skills and job vacancies through the “Employability Booster Course” and “Adapted Applied Learning Course” specifically designed for SEN youth.

Industry Partners

  • Support the Enterprise Advisors (EA) programme recruitment process by engaging additional potential employers to join as Enterprise Advisors to enhance the effectiveness and reach of the programme.

Education and Training Institution Partners

  • Increase public awareness of The “Jockey Club CLAP–TECH Pathway: Star” through promotion and publicity.
  • Lead the design of ‘Through-train pathway’ course to promote collaboration between secondary schools and industries, linking “Adapted Applied Learning Course” with future skills in a mutually beneficial way.
  • Support students in transitioning from “Guidance Course” to School-Based “Applied Learning Adaption Courses” and “Employability Booster courses”.
  • Organize extracurricular activities related to career guidance and counseling for secondary school partners. Also, connecting with like-minded employers to help schools establish comprehensive career and personal development strategies.
  • Promote curriculum research and evaluation.

Secondary School Partners

  • Assist in promoting to students and parents and recruiting students to the courses.
  • Organize “Guidance Course” including related lessons and activities.
  • Provide necessary counselling and advice, such as career-and-life development to students, help them to overcome difficulties during their learning and employment journey.
  • Assist and complete the requests of any evaluations or research studies required in The “Jockey Club CLAP–TECH Pathway: Star”.
  • Promote the success of The “Jockey Club CLAP–TECH Pathway: Star” Special School, share and advocate the learning experience in the education sector.
