CLAP-TECH Pathway Star Model
The “Jockey Club CLAP–TECH Pathway: Star” programme is specifically designed for youth with special educational needs, integrating vocational and career development education. The programme consists of three stages, offering different courses to help students understand the employability skills required and the professional knowledge needed in various industries and positions. The goal is to progressively equip young people with special educational needs, facilitating a smooth transition from school to the workplace.
Part 1 - Guidance Course

"Guidance Course" - This part targets Form 4 students and provides a diverse guidance course consisting of 50 hours. It includes classroom learning, visits, and career planning activities, offering students enriching learning experiences. Students also get to familiarize themselves with different work scenarios, stimulating their interests and deepening their understanding of the future world of work. They can also begin to understand and master the subsequent "Applied Learning Adaptation Course."
Part 2 - Applied Learning Adaptation Course

"Applied Learning Adaptation Course" - This part is designed for Form 5 and Form 6 students, spanning a total of 240 hours. The course focuses on pre-employment training, emphasizing the development of students' soft skills, proper values, and attitudes. It aims to establish their employment expectations in the industry and equip them with the necessary professional skills, preparing them for further studies and employment.
Part 3 - Pre-employment Training Programme

"Pre-employment Training Program" - This part is mainly for Form 6 school leavers and unemployed youth, with a duration of approximately 10-12 weeks and a total of 450 hours. Based on research on workplace trends and industry demands, the programme collaborates with the industry to create positions suitable for young people with special educational needs. It designs courses to help students not only understand the future development trends of relevant industries but also learn the required professional skills for the job. To ensure students are well-prepared to enter the workforce, the course also incorporates other employment-related training, such as teaching business skills, resume writing, and interview techniques. Throughout the programme, from the beginning to six months after completion, students are assigned life coaches who provide support, encouragement, emotional guidance, and assistance in facing various life and work challenges, acting as mentors. As this programme is linked to employment, career matching will be arranged for students within six months after completing the course.
